Scheme Name  IITH-JICA  PhD Scholarship 2015
Purpose  The overall goal of this Scholarship Project is to enhance World-Class Research Network between Higher Education Institutions/Industrial clusters of Japan and IITH, whereby both can establish educational and research excellence in the field of science, technology and engineering in the future.

Eligibility 1. Nationality: Citizens of India
2. Age: Age between 20 and 30 years old as of April 1 in the year of the participant’s arrival in Japan in principle (Note: If University and/or course has its own limitation for age, which takes priority over this qualification);
3. Military personnel are not allowed to apply;
4. Applicants must have a clear understanding of the overall goal of the Project,
5. Applicants must not be those who will receive another scholarship through other foreign assistance the same time;
6. Health condition: mentally and physically in sound;
7. English proficiency: to have a good command of English to a level sufficient for study in Japan; and
8. Graduates or expected graduates of IITH

Step 2 – (February – April 2015): Only for those who are requested. If necessary, applicants are required to take an interview by the Project. The detail will be notified via e-mail according to the necessity. The expense, e.g. travel cost to Hyderabad, accommodation etc. is borne in accordance with the regulation of JICA
Step 3-1 (April – May 2015): Only for successful applicants on Step 1 & 2. Successful applicants are asked to submit Application Form to University
The details are guided by e-mail. According to the request from university, examination and/or interview may be required to take in Japan. The expense, e.g. travel cost to Japan, accommodation etc. is borne in accordance with the regulation of JICA
Step 3-2 (April – May 2015): Only for successful applicants on Step 1 & 2. In parallel with Step 3-1, Application Form of JICA is asked to submit for administration after the notification of JICA
